speaking part 1 – study

What do you study? – my major is software engineering. So I learn about some basic knowledge about programming skills and algorithms toward data.

Where do you study that? – I study that from my university. Well,  you know Tianjin University. I live in the new campus located in Jinnan distinct.

Why did you choose that subject? – it was 6 years ago that I chose this subject. Honestly, at that time, I didn’t even know computer science would become such a prosperous繁荣的 industry. My parents have a friend who works for an IT company. So I chose this subject under his influence. / I was affected by him.

Is it a popular subject in your country? – of course, it is. As computer science has become such a prosperous industry that loads of students would like to choose this subject not only in my country but also all over the world. Even some people who dropped out from a school would like to learn some basic programming skills for a better job.

Do you like that subject? / what’s your major? do you like it? – my major is computer science which is promising. I can’t say that I’m really into it. but, you know, computer science is very promising and many products have been put into use to improve the quality of people’s life. I’d like to become one of them who contribute to the development of society, but I haven’t found the real one that I really like. Maybe I’m a task driven person. Sometimes someone gives me a task that I need to finish it. When I solve a problem or a bug, I would be excited. At that time, I love programming/ my subject.

Do you get on with your colleagues? 你和同事相处得好吗?– I don’t have colleagues but if you mean the students I work with, I get along with them very well. but most times I study alone and I don’t often hang out with them. So I rarely have time to stay with them.   focus/ˈfəʊ.kəs/

What was your first day like? – I can’t remember what situation that day was. But I guess I was excited cause I was born in a small village. when I came to a big university, everything was new to me. I was excited about the surroundings.

What are the main aspects of your subject? – At first, we would learn some programming languages, such as C ++, Java, Python and R language. Then we would learn how to build a website or some basic algorithms towards data. Although I don’t have special feelings about computer science, I do love the feeling when I solve a problem. Take my manuscript of a paper as an example, when I scheduled all of the steps and solved the problem piece by piece, that was exactly what made me excited.

Do you plan to get a job in the same field as your subject? / If you had the chance, would you change the subject? – Of course not. as you know computer science is very promising. after graduate, It would be much easier for you to find a decent job in this field. Although I don’t have special feelings towards computer science, I do love the feeling/process when I solve a problem. Take my manuscript of a paper as an example, when I scheduled all of the steps and solved the problem piece by piece, that was exactly what made me excited.

Is there anything you don’t like about it? – Maybe the only one thing that I really don’t like is that it changes too fast. You need to keep learning state-to-art techniques to avoid falling behind. Once you don’t learn new knowledge or techniques, you’ll be left behind.
